B-Buon compleanno, Mukuro-sama.
How was that? I’ve been trying to learn Italian from this little book so I’m a little unsure about pronunciation…and I don’t know how to translate honorifics yet either but… a-anyway…!
Mukuro-sama, I… I want to thank you— thank you for everything. I know you must hear this from me a lot but… I feel so much gratitude towards you. If it weren’t for you I wouldn’t even exist… and perhaps I would even go as far and say that you are the sole reason why I am living today. I find you very admirable, and strong beyond compare…
But above all those things, you are my most treasured person, like a family I never had. Not many people can see it…and though I’ve lost half of my vision….I’m lucky to be able to witness the kindness you hold in your soul. It’s something so clear to me— like a light. I think Ken and Chikusa see it too.
So, on this special day you were born, I would like to express my sincerest wish on your behalf— and that wish is that you will someday be able to feel soft grass beneath your feet, the cool wind caress your face, and my hands in yours, in this time, in this reality, and in your own body.
And though you’re in the state you’re in now, I’d like to wish you a very, very happy birthday. And though it is so little in comparison to what you’ve done for me, know that I will stand by you, always.
